WHY WE EXIST
Every legal business
deserves to get paid.
Card processors label many legal businesses "high-risk" and shut them out: accounts closed without warning, fees far above standard card rates, rolling reserves that hold their money for months, and cash-only counters that put staff at risk.
Bitcoin removes the gatekeeper. A customer pays the merchant directly: SatsRail can't freeze the funds or reverse the sale, and with a self-custodial wallet nobody can. SatsRail makes that practical for an ordinary business: a checkout, a POS, payment links, an API and accounting reports, on a subscription with no cut of each sale.

Including the ones card processors label high-risk. What we can't serve is written down in our public Acceptable Use Policy.
No buyer KYC
Customers pay links, checkout and the POS without signing up or proving who they are. Ordering from a storefront or accepting a subscription takes a SatsRail account, opened with an email, never an ID. Checkout asks for contact details only if the merchant turns that on. Merchants verify their business before a paid plan; their customers never do.
Built on Bitcoin
Native Lightning for instant payments and on-chain for payments final once confirmed. Not a custodial wrapper.

California isn't the easiest place to build a Bitcoin company. We chose it anyway. SatsRail LLC is a California LLC. Independent counsel's formal written opinion of April 4, 2026 concludes that SatsRail's non-custodial Lightning service is not money transmission under federal rules and needs no license under California's Digital Financial Assets Law (DFAL, the state's license for businesses that hold or move crypto for others), because SatsRail never controls customer funds. The opinion predates on-chain payments, which are in early access. Our full regulatory analysis is public.
Not available in New York State while a separate analysis of the BitLicense, New York's license for virtual-currency businesses, is pending.

Does SatsRail ever hold my money?
No. Not for bitcoin, cards, the storefront, the POS or subscriptions. Customers pay your own wallet directly: SatsRail asks your wallet provider for the invoice and confirms the payment, and for on-chain it uses a watch-only key that can see payments but never spend them. Card payments, if you connect your own processor, go to your processor account.

How do I get support?

Which businesses can use SatsRail?
Any legal business in a supported country that follows our Acceptable Use Policy, including ones card processors label high-risk. SatsRail does not serve New York State while a BitLicense analysis is pending. Merchants verify their business (KYB) before moving to a paid plan; their customers never verify their identity.
How do I report a security issue?
