PRICING FAQ
Free is $0 for bitcoin payments up to — a month, counted at their US-dollar value. Starter is — a month with no volume cap. Pro is — a month (coming soon) and adds a storefront for AI agents, your own card processor and subscriptions. Prices are at a standard business category. Above — a month, talk to us about Enterprise. There is no percentage and no per-payment fee on any plan.
No. SatsRail takes no percentage and charges no per-payment fee. You pay your plan's monthly price, plus your own wallet and conversion costs, and with Pro your card processor's own fees. The calculator puts those costs together.
It can. Each category has a multiplier, starting at 1.0×, that applies to the subscription, never to a payment. The plan cards show prices at 1.0×; search for your category in the calculator to see yours. Your final category is confirmed during business verification and shown in your dashboard.
Paid plans are billed monthly with a Lightning invoice from SatsRail, so there is no card on file. A plan starts when its invoice is paid. If a renewal goes unpaid, your plan stays on for a 4-day grace period, then moves to Free. The free plan needs no payment details at all. Paid plans require business verification (KYB).
Only Free has a cap. Past — in a month, new orders and quick charges in the dashboard, and new orders and payment requests through the API (which the POS app and AI agents on the MCP server use), are refused until you choose Starter or Pro, or a new month begins. Orders already created can still be paid. SatsRail emails you at 80% of the cap and when you reach it. Paid plans need business verification first, so start it before you near the cap. The cap counts the bitcoin payments you receive through SatsRail, at their US-dollar value when paid; unpaid, test-mode and cash orders do not count. (Developers: a refused request returns HTTP 429 with volume_limit_exceeded.) Starter and Pro are never refused for volume.
No. SatsRail confirms bitcoin payments to your wallet. To receive dollars, you sell bitcoin through a separate provider, such as an exchange (see exchanges by country). Its fees, spread, account requirements and availability depend on the provider and your location. To cover that cost, you can add a conversion fee of up to 3% to bitcoin payments; checkout shows it as its own line.
Yes. Move down to Free, or from Pro to Starter, at any time from the dashboard: the change takes effect when the period you have paid for ends, so your plan runs until then. Closing your account instead takes effect immediately and revokes your API keys, with no refund for the rest of the period.
Every call to SatsRail's API made with your key, pay.js included: a pay.js product button loads its product on each page view, and each click opens a checkout session. Hosted checkout and payment links don't use your key, so they never count. Every plan allows — calls a minute and — an hour per key; past either, the API answers HTTP 429 with Retry-After.
No. Add bitcoin alongside cards. With Pro (coming soon), connect your own card processor and customers who can't pay in bitcoin pay by card at the same checkout, with bitcoin as the default. Set the share you expect to move to bitcoin in the calculator. Card fees on the remaining sales and existing fixed subscriptions stay in the estimate.
Yes, in early access. Customers can pay on-chain at checkout above your minimum, straight to a fresh address from your watch-only key. It is included in every plan, with 0% per-payment fee from SatsRail; customers pay the on-chain network fee.
